Biografia
Paulo Portas é formado em Direito pela Universidade Católica Portuguesa. Foi co-fundador de O Independente. Foi Ministro de Estado e dos Negócios Estrangeiros e Vice-Primeiro Ministro entre 2011 e 2015 e Ministro de Estado e da Defesa Nacional entre 2002 e 2005. Liderou o CDS durante 16 anos, tornando-se num dos líderes partidários mais jovens e duradouros. Eleito Deputado em 7 legislaturas. Fundou a Vinciamo Consulting, consultoria estratégica, com atividades na Europa, Golfo, África e América Latina. É Professor de Geo-Economics and International Relations na Nova SBE. Ensinou também em Madrid, Abu Dhabi e Shanghai. É Vice-Presidente da Câmara do Comércio e Indústria (CCIP), empresário e consultor, membro do Conselho de Curadores da Fundação Champalimaud. Acumula os cargos de Administrador Não Executivo na Mota-Engil (desde 2023) e na MDS (2025), integrando ainda o Conselho Fiscal da Tabaqueira (2025). Desde 2024, faz também parte do Family Office da TEAK. “Membre d’Hounneur” da Académie du Royaume du Maroc (desde 2023). É autor do programa televisivo Global. É fluente (falado e escrito) em português, inglês, espanhol, francês e italiano.
EN// Paulo Portas holds a Law degree from Portuguese Catholic University. He was co-founder of O Independente. He served as Minister of State and Foreign Affairs and Deputy Prime Minister between 2011 and 2015, and as Minister of State and National Defence between 2002 and 2005. He led the CDS party for 16 years, becoming one of the youngest and longest-serving party leaders in Portugal. He was elected Member of Parliament in seven legislatures. He founded Vinciamo Consulting, a strategic consulting firm operating across Europe, the Gulf, Africa, and Latin America. He is Professor of Geo-Economics and International Relations at Nova School of Business and Economics. He has also taught in Madrid, Abu Dhabi, and Shanghai. He is Vice-President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCIP), entrepreneur and consultant, and a member of the Board of Trustees of the Champalimaud Foundation. He also serves as Non-Executive Director at Mota-Engil (since 2023) and MDS (2025), and is a member of the Supervisory Board of Tabaqueira (2025). Since 2024, he has also been part of the Family Office of TEAK. He has been a “Membre d’Honneur” of the Académie du Royaume du Maroc since 2023. He is the author and host of the television programme Global. He is fluent, both spoken and written, in Portuguese, English, Spanish, French, and Italian.
